- Summary:
- This film abounds in vibrant colors, documenting the artist's never-ending passion to paint. Whether celebrating China's epic heritage, or recording, in paint, key events of its recent history, Master Yuyi's love of art shines through. He's mastered watercolors, oils, sketching, and traditional Chinese graphic styles. Of all the artists in China, his works are the most frequently found in high government buildings in Beijing. He has painted hundreds of captivating canvases, some spanning more than 100 meters! Indeed, the 2008 Olympics exhibited a gigantic artwork, which took Liu Yuyi years to complete. It celebrated Olympic history, from inception all the way to today. That project was so monumental that it took a warehouse to house its studio, plus living quarters for his family. Only that space was large enough for the many sections of that record-breaking artwork. Join us to explore the life of Liu Yuyi, Chinese master-artist.
