Summary:
The original immigrant Frederick Moninger immigrated to Philadelphia in 1817. He lived in the city most of his life although he was enumerated in Moreland, Montgomery County in 1850. He is buried in Cedar Hill (East Cedar Hill) cemetery in Philadelphia. His son Michael Moninger was born in Philadelphia three years after Frederick emigrated from Germany. He lived his entire life in Philadelphia and is buried in Greenmount Cemetery. Both he and his father were machinists. The members of the Ross family who also appear in the Moninger bible are those related to Michael's daughter Laura. She was born, lived and died in Philadelphia. She was the mother of Roland Ross, who was born, lived in and died in Philadelphia.
