- The agri -food sector is one of the areas of key specialization of the research and innovation strategy for intelligent specialization in the Region of Murcia (RIS3Mur). The strategic importance in the regional economy of the activities of this sector, as well as those intimately related to its Value chain, advise continuously monitoring and supporting their development. The study presented in this work analyzes the effects of the business strategy on the competitiveness of companies in the agri -food sector through the impulse of business innovation. To achieve this objective, the results of a wide sample of companies in the sector that reflect the relationships between the strategic orientation of the company, the types of innovation, sustainability and organizational results are presented.
