Summary:
This final report outlines results from a study examining common reimbursement mechanisms that support team-based behavioral health care. Results indicate that team-based behavioral health care models are funded through various mechanisms, often requiring grant funding to make up the short falls in billable services relative to the total service costs. Reimbursement rates often do not cover billable providers' total costs of team-based care, and vital team members, like peer support specialists and care coordinators can be difficult to bill for.
