Summary:
An approach to the different architectures that make up the material heritage of the city of Arequipa, a heritage built by elements from different periods, historical contexts and styles. The academic criteria presented here aim to establish a critical assessment of the importance of each building from its artistic, functional, historical and antiquity aspects, to create a collective memory of Arequipa's built heritage, from the monumental to the neighborhood and domestic scale. The second volume "Recorridos" presents the 112 buildings contained in the first volume organized in planned itineraries according to a geographical criterion, determining routes through different sectors of the Historic Center of the city, the urban area and the peripheral traditional towns. The book "has catalogued, in the first volume of this publication, significant buildings in the city. Their relevance requires reflecting on the importance of the urban context in each of them. The place where the building is located conditions the perception of its surroundings. That is why it is appropriate to complement the Guide with the embellishment of urban routes (recorridos) that reinforce the architecture of interest in its context." -translated from page 5
