Summary:

This book was initially a testimony of the friendship between painter Sérvulo Gutiérrez (Ica, Peru) with "Juan Gris" (Pseudonym of the journalist Mario Belaúnde Guinassi, 1914-1989), the author's father. Both were part of the group of intellectuals, artists, journalists who in the 1950's lived that bohemian life in which they fused art, politics, national reality and an active social life. This work soon became an important document on the meeting and generational exchange of intellectuals from all over Peru such as Martín Adán, Ricardo Grau, Doris Gibson, Blanca Varela, Paco Moncloa, Paco Igartua, Alfonso Tealdo, Sebastián Salazar Bondy, Víctor Humareda, Mañé Checa Solari, Fernando de Szyszlo, Juan Ríos, Macedonio de la Torre, Sabino Springett, Enrique Kleisser, noted personages in journalism, literature, painting, art collecting, who left their mark in Peru's art history for the quality of their thought and work. The edition has a prologue written in January 2017 by Mario Saavaedra Pinón, and includes the author's interviews with the children, grandchildren, nephews, brothers-in-law, colleagues and friends of the noted artist
