Summary:
Learn how cryptographic techniques can help ensure confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation of data, either at rest or in motion.
Though technology changes rapidly, the need to secure data, whether at rest or in motion does not. Understanding the basics of cryptography is fundamental to keeping your networks, systems, and data secure. In this course, Lisa Bock helps you gain a better understanding of the cryptographic tools and techniques that are used to secure data. Lisa begins by outlining how cryptographic techniques are essential in securing data, helping you differentiate between confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation. She also explains how symmetric and asymmetric encryption and hash algorithms are used to secure data. Then, look at cryptography in action, by learning about transport layer security and how to secure email, and see how blockchain provides data integrity. The course finishes with an overview and explanation of how Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) secures transactions.
