This conference proceedings are a compilation of articles (proceedings) from the Hasanuddin International Conference on Social and Political Sciences (HICOSPOS) 2024, titled “Media, Populism, and Societal Shifts: Unravelling the Fabric of Political Discourse in Indonesia.” The title has been selected to examine the influence of media in crafting political narratives and its contribution to the emergence of populism during election periods. Additionally, it is crucial to analyze the transformation of societal norms and values as a result of shifting political discourse influenced by the media. The theme highlights the importance for theorists and practitioners to strengthen their commitments, solidarities, and full support in enhancing research collaboration for the development of social and political sciences in addressing contemporary problems. It also reflects the seven subthemes covered in the articles submitted. The seven subthemes are: The Influence of Media Framing and Political Narratives on Public Perception.
