Summary:
Stanislav Liška, a police officer in body and soul, was forced to take part in a secret service ploy, a piece of Cold War theatre in German in US uniforms. He became the first people smuggler to lead people to the false border between Czechoslovakia and Bavaria, and set up the first false customs post complete with a US army office. This ruse was employed by the communist secret police for four years in order to interrogate and then arrest preselected individuals, but was revealed to the West by double agent Liška. However, at the same time he and his friends managed to get tens of prominent figures across what was soon to become the impenetrable Iron Curtain. But his double dealing was not to everyone's liking. This dramatic tale provides an insight into the early days of the anti-communist resistance movement and has an importaint ethical dimension, though justice for the victims of the "Kamer" operations long since became a pipe dream.
