Summary:

Violence in lesbian relationships is a complex phenomenon that is little discussed in the social sciences, in gender and sexuality studies, in public policies, and in feminist and LGBTI activism. Why? If on the one hand it is essential that we know how to identify and name violence, on the other (and perhaps equally so) it is fundamental to strengthen intimate love, as bell hooks taught us, to overcome it. Understanding the violence that exists in us and how we use it against each other is a step towards transforming this reality. In a collaborative way, the author outlines a comparative analysis of experiences lived in Bogotá, Brasília, and Mexico City, through an innovative conceptual proposal.
