Summary:
Log and narrative of the second voyage of the ship Columbia Rediviva from Boston to the northwest coast of America, to Canton, China, and home to Boston, recorded by Robert Haswell, 1st mate.The narrative covers the period 14 Aug 1791 (on Hancock's River) to 26 May 1793 (on St Helena). The Columbia, commanded by Captain Robert Gray, sailed up and down the northwest coast trading with the native Americans for sea otter furs, sailed to the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii), and then traded the furs in Canton for tea and other Chinese wares.
