Correspondence from Samuel Francis Du Pont. The letters from The Hagley Museum and Library include personal and naval correspondence from Samuel Francis Du Pont detailing his voyage to China aboard the Minnesota in 1859. Certain letters in the collection detail the health of the crew, including an account of an outbreak of cholera. The letters include a painting of Commissioner Yeh by a Chinese artist and a painting of the city of Tianjin, North China.
