Summary:
An oil on canvas by an unidentified Chinese artist. The Henry Astor was involved primarily in the sea otter trade between the Pacific Northwest and Canton. This unique painting, however, illustrates the Henry Astor rigged as a whale ship, which indicates she also carried whale oil to China.
