Summary:
Responsa, sent to Daṿid Yaʻaḳov Maroni, then rabbi of Cento, between Rosh ha-Shanah and Yom Kippur, regarding a query as to which city's Beth Din should be required to facilitate Ḥalitsah for a Cento widow (Ḥalitsah is the repudiation of the Biblical levirate marriage, in the case of a brother's death with no children); in the query posed, the man traveled between Siena and Florence while living in Florence, and Modena ruled that he should be sued to arrive in Beth Din with his brother's widow for the ceremony, thus allowing the widow to remarry. Written in an Italian semicursive Hebrew script; letter edges partially damaged.
