Summary:
This book studies the construction of architecture as an infrastructural fact for the configuration of cities and understands it as a cultural response to the construction of society as a whole. Throughout its pages, the book exposes the successes and errors of collective housing works in Lima, both in the social, urban and formal aspects, as well as in terms of the effects they produce on the urban experience. Through a systematic analysis, the content allows us to know and compare the main elements and characteristics of these housing projects. The ultimate goal of this publication, designed for specialists, students and the general public, is to recognize the intrinsic values of architecture through housing projects carried out in Peru, and thus help to recover its values with respect to construction and the social development of the country. Finally, this book, which includes a collection of important projects, also seeks to promote trust between architects, promoters and agents of the State, to materialize in Peru relevant works in social, urban, architectural and cultural terms, particularly housing complexes, since it is there where, in a direct way, architecture affects society as a whole.
