- Summary:
- Researcher Celestina Stramigioli, accompanied by Roxana Amarilla, a specialist in cultural management, heritage and crafts, and Celeste Valero, a weaver from Jujuy book describes and presents in photographs more than 160 pieces. This makes it a fundamental database and images for weavers and researchers. The author has made regular trips to Jujuy and Salta since 2013, where she visits weavers and contacted Professor Jorge Staude, who had created an important and representative textile collection, which she acquired and is the subject of this edition that contains descriptions and color photographs of more than 160 pieces. Faithful to her training as a historian, Celestina Stramigioli began a long journey through the history of Kolla weaving, which includes contributions from communities in Bolivia, Chile and Peru. The thoroughness and passion put into recording the steps of her research and the achievement of combining a work where scientific rigor is united with the pleasure and enjoyment of its realization are a merit. Celestina had the vision to know that this heritage had to be studied, documented and disseminated, in order to be recognized and admired.
