Summary:
The Pre-Columbian Art Museum (also known by the acronym of its Spanish name MAP) is an art museum in Cusco, Peru dedicated to the display of archaeological artifacts and examples of pre-Columbian artworks drawn from all regions of pre-Columbian Peru. The museum is located on the emblematic Casa Cabrera, an abandoned 18th century building in the Plazoleta de las Nazarenas in the San Blas district of Cuzco. After a restoration by the Fundación BBVA, the Museo de Arte Precolombino re-opened in June 2003. The 400 pieces on display at MAP Cusco are part of the collection of the Larco Museum and were curated by Fernando de Szyszlo and Cecilia Bákula. The present edition is the museum's first catalogue.
