This volume contains a collection of presentations from the 6th Göttingen workshop on family law, which was held on October 19, 2007, and which dealt with the upcoming changes in state child protection against the background of the Federal Government's draft law on "Facilitating family court measures in the event of a risk to the welfare of the child" Child protection from a constitutional perspective (Matthias Jestaedt), a contribution on the content and function of the concept of child welfare risk (Michael Coester) and a representation of youth welfare in its development between help and control (Helga Oberloskamp), this volume contains contributions to two central regulatory complexes upcoming reform,in particular on the scope of the family court's competency in relation to the youth welfare office (Barbara Fellenberg, Thomas Meysen) as well as on the so-called "educational talk" planned by the legislature at the family court (Barbara Fellenberg).
