- Summary:
- Chilean visual artist Claudio Correa (Chile, 1972), lives and works in Spain, in his more than 20 years of trajectory, converging in his particular treatment of iconic images, through practices such as research and finding historical objects (coins, stamps, badges, etc.); the evocation of very early experiments in cinematography; and other basic elements of mechanics and optical techniques, all in order to build critical installations, and not devoid of humor, on the various official manifestations of power. Chilean visual artist Claudio Correa (Chile, 1972), lives and works in Spain, in his more than 20 years of trajectory, converging in his particular treatment of iconic images, through practices such as research and finding historical objects (coins, stamps, badges, etc.); the evocation of very early experiments in cinematography; and other basic elements of mechanics and optical techniques, all in order to build critical installations, and not devoid of humor, on the various official manifestations of power. The edition, which condenses the essence of the exhibition, not only documents the works presented, but also offers an in-depth analysis of how Carlos Correa's biographical aspects influence his work by highlighting the artist's connection to the rural stories he heard in his childhood in Rancagua, and how these narratives manifest in his work.
