Probably William Jermy, 1713-1752, son of John Jermy, of Bayfield in Norfolk, and his second wife, Mary Starkey. William Jermy matriculated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge in 1731, and was admitted to the Inner Temple in 1735. He served as High Sheriff of Norfolk between 1747 and 1748. His first marriage, in 1735 to the Hon. Elizabeth Richardson, was childless and ended in legal separation. Elizabeth Jermy died in August 1751 and in October of the same year William married Frances Preston. He died in London three months later, and was buried at St Michael and All Angels, in Aylsham, a small town in north Norfolk. F.3r: ornamental ink cartouche with author/compiler's names; f.4r: title, dates, compiler's signature; ff.5-7r: table of contents page by page; ff.8r-92v: text; ff.95v-96r: two addenda. F.1r bears bookseller's catalogue entry; f.2r, an early pencil comment; f.44r (p.108), a bookseller's entry for Swift letter [not present]. Written by two main scribes

Bound in modern cream vellum over boards, with black ink lettering on frontispiece cover and spine (the latter with "NORFOLK MSS"); modern endpapers and flyleaves.
