- Following three blank leaves, contents are f.4r-v: poem, 'Merit advanced, inscribed to Fredk. Forrest Esq.' signed 'T.S.' or 'T.F.' (perhaps Theodosius Forrest); ff.5r-46r (versos blank): 'The country attorney. A musical farce of one act', including sixteen songs; ff.47r-75v: twenty-four poems, several attributed to Frederick Forrest and some dated, four being incomplete because of missing leaves between ff.51 and 52 and ff.56 and 57; ff.76v-79r: prose story; ff.81v-90r: catalogue of drawings and books left by Frederick Forrest to Mrs Ewart; ff.94r-99r (versos blank): cuttings of poems, some attributed to Forrest, pasted in. A separate leaf, f.103, is loosely inserted, with two poems and an epitaph on Thomas Chatterton, 1786

- The compiler of the manuscript is unknown. Frederick Forrest was the brother of Theodosius Forrest, the lawyer, amateur artist, and songwriter who wrote 'The Roast Beef of Old England' (see David Eley, 'Poems, Songs and Translations by Theodosius Forrest', Leeds MA dissertation, 1985)
