- Summary:
- From the Arctic deserts in the north, to the lush hills in the south; from the beautiful and stunning western inlets full of whales and icebergs, over the infinite ice sheet, to the remote villages in the harsh east. A journey where Nikolaj experiences breathtaking nature sceneries as well as close and personal cultural encounters. Such as that American soldiers posted in the remote Thule Air Base, a passionate scientist finding new arctic discoveries, and warm locals opening their homes and hearts. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has a very personal relationship with Greenland, beginning with childhood memories of his father working there for years, that would later be intensified when he met his Greenlandic wife to be Nukaka. Nikolaj has now been married to Nukaka for more than 20 years - and through her and her large family, he has experienced and learned to love the enormous and wild country up far north. Through the series Nikolaj embarks on his own personal journey, to learn more about the country he knows well through 20 years of visits - but still knows so little about. Following Nikolaj we get a unique access to people and places, and a very up-close insight into his personal stories from childhood, close family relations, touching moments with his wife and children, and we get to live with him in his private holiday house. Through Greenland give us fascinating and unique stories covering Greenlandic culture and traditions, over nature and climate to history and society.
