Summary:
The authors present in the publication phenomenon of negation. The volume includes articles by linguists, literary scholars, cultural experts, lawyers, philosophers and logicians. The publication is therefore interdisciplinary in character, because it presents the results of research on negation in the syntactic, semantic, logical, rhetorical, cultural and social dimensions. The authors of articles collected in the monograph propose syntactic, semantic and communication description of negation. They treat the negation narrowly - as part of the semantic sentence structure, affecting its formal structure, the speaker rejects the previously issued or default court (syntactic and logical definitions of negation), and broadly - as negation, rejection of what was or is recognized as real, proper, valuable, fair (dictionary definitions with lexeme negation). The collected texts are presented to the reader in four groups: in the first we have published general and theoretical publications (part I), in the next - analytical, containing descriptions of specific phenomena related to negation in language (part II), text (part III) and discourse (part IV).
