Summary:
A man between two worlds. This is how we can define Giancarlo Palanti, an architect whose career was divided between Italy and Brazil. Born in Milan at the beginning of the 20th century, he entered the modern trenches in the fight with academics. The collective battle accustomed him to producing collectively. After two decades working in Milan, Palanti changed continents as a result of the war. He arrived in Brazil at the age of 40 and helped define the morphology of modern São Paulo. Being a legitimate rationalist, he did not perceive boundaries between scales, from urbanism to design. His furniture has been attracting more and more attention from collectors. Few realize that Palanti is a unique character as a designer, being a pioneer in Italy and Brazil. This volume is part of the designer collection, carried out by Editora Monolito in partnership with dpot, a company dedicated to the edition and commercialization of modern and contemporary Brazilian furniture. Each issue will have as its theme the furniture design of a particular author.
