Summary:
A&Q is a "answer and question" series exploring speculation as a practice, subject, and form for critical thought. The series invited artists Cristobal Gracia, Kameelah Janan Rasheed, Rose Salane, and Claudia Peña Salinas to respond to five short "answers" on the nature of knowledge production, public memory, and the limits of the archive. Each contributor was asked to compose a short one-sentence "question" to five "answers" provided by project curators Paulina Ascencio Fuentes and Gee Wesley. The resulting "answers and questions" are collected in the pages that follow. A&Q is organized by Paulina Ascencio Fuentes and Gee Wesley as part of Second Year Curatorial Practice, at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College (CCS Bard). This publication is coproduced by CCS Bard and Gato Negro Ediciones, Mexico.
