Summary:
Historical-critical publication about the Grupo Joven (Young Group), an art collective composed of artists from different disciplines and founded by Víctor Magariños that defended the "new art" of the post-war period and developed activities between 1946 and the mid-1970s under the slogan "We are not for or against men. We fight for art." In different periods it was formed by P. De Simone, D. Di Stefano, O. Lucentini, D. Chalukian, V. Magariños D., M. A. Vidal, E. Mac Entyre, J. Arcuri, A. Cuberas, L. Torres Nilsson, C. Filevich, R. Bardi, A. Carracedo, H. Mans, R. Laham, among others. The exhibition traces the historical path of the artistic collective Grupo Joven from its first geometric experiments on paper, playfully and collectively constructed, to the subsequent individual production of its members and concludes with a direct dialogue between modernity and contemporaneity, both periods represented by Grupo Joven and a selection of contemporary artists. In the first rooms, works belonging to the artistic collective Grupo Joven are presented a next room exhibits works by contemporary creators such as Francisca Amigo, Amadeo Azar, Juan Sebastián Bruno, Natalia Cristo, Rodrigo Cuberas, Tulio De Sagastizábal, Graciela Hasper, Silvia Gurfein, Cristian Mac Entyre, Roger Mac Entyre, Beto De Volder, Déborah Pruden, Marina De Caro, Marie Orensanz, Marcela Sinclair, Andrés Sobrino, César Paternosto, and Luciana Targise.
