- Artwork from 2000 to 2002 by Fernanda Laguna (Hurlingham, 1972), a multifaceted artist who focuses on the visual, but also encompasses writing, curatorship, cultural management, independent publishing and social activism. "This book contains a time in my life threaded by a thread of despair. I wanted to express what was happening to me, that it was sad, but humor crept in, almost unconsciously it made me laugh to have such a bad time. My diary follows that idea that in the face of sadness I respond with self-harangue. Estoy bien, estoy bien, estoy bien. Confiaba en la potencia transformadora de las palabras. I'm the best, I'm beautiful, she told me in the face of low self-esteem. And paintings are also spells, spells that brought me closer to my need to love. She pasted a photo of someone she loved, like a sorceress who wants them to fall in love with her. Words and paintings are flesh, they are alive in a magical sense. The real and the other (that which we do to invoke) are related. In the works there are energies that manifest themselves. Art is not an object, art is a relationship like love." --Fernanda Laguna.
