- Summary:
- Various graffiti with amorous declarations are constantly painted in public spaces in Nezahualcóyotl and Chimalhuacán (State of Mexico). In other parts of these same neighborhoods, dozens of bodies of young women have also been found, victims of extreme violence, perpetrated mainly by their intimate partners, family members or acquaintances. Many others have disappeared. Sonia Madrigal lives and works in Nezahualcoyotl City (Mexico). Her work explores distinct visual narratives to reflect, in personal and collective ways, themes around territory, gender and violence.
