That the Corruption of the Laity in all Christian States, proceeds from the Corruption of the Clergy. III. That there was a more General Vertue in the grossest Times of Paganism, than there has been since our Saviour came into the World. IV. That there is a more General Vertue in other Parts of the Globe, than in the Christian World. V. That there was a more General Vertue in our own Nation in the Times of our Ancestors, than there is in our own Times; and that Priestcraft, and Corruption of Manners, have increas'd together.
