Summary:
This trade journal was "[a] magazine devoted to the interests of the retail and allied businesses". The selection available within The Transformation of Shopping covers the period 1928-1967 and due to the longevity of the publication is a rich resource which explored a range of global events, such as the Great Depression and the Second World War. The journal was published by the Retail Trader's Association of New South Wales and included a wide range of retail information, such as council meeting minutes, news from other branches, and dates to be aware of such as upcoming holidays and other marketing opportunities. In addition to this was an array of articles which covered core sociocultural aspects such as employee wages, changes in technology and topical events such as the construction of air raid shelters in Sydney.
