- Retail Directions was the next iteration of the Department Store Economist, following on from Department Store Management and first published in 1973 by ComPub in New York. With this journal, researchers can explore a continuation of advice and advertising specific to department store managers and merchandisers, such as the introduction of new electronic ticketing and cash registers. Options for new display methods are also offered, as well as a regular 'Retailers Calendar' page which shares key dates of trade exhibitions and other important events throughout the year. Financial information such as inflation is also discussed, in addition to predictions for commerce in future years.
