The first issue of the 1719 and 1720 collection of 'Wit and mirth: or, pills to purge melancholy'; subsequently reissued under the original title.
The first two volumes mostly contain songs by the editor Thomas D'Urfey, with the remainder being those originally collected and published by Henry Playford.
Drop-head title on p. 1 and the running title to each volume: 'Songs compleat, pleasant and divertive, &c.' and 'Songs compleat, pleasant and divertive' respectively.
