The directory for patent-slating : Calculated to instruct noblemen, gentlemen, builders and other artificers, in the use of the new-invented method of covering the roofs of churches, houses, or any other buildings, with slates, so as to prevent their being rifled by Winds; damaged by Frost, Snow, or Hail; or penetrated by the strongest driving Rains; and so as greatly to reduce the Weight of Materials used, and consequently the Degree of Expence incurred, in framing Roofs and covering Buildings after the common Modes.
