Janry. 28th 1891 Given him by his kinsman Gawin Orr Ballylesson Lisburn Co Down & Antrim Ireland.") recording the gift of this volume to Reverend James Orr (1823-1902; Jones no. 869), of Villa Antoinette, Cannes, France, then by 28 January 1891 of Rosenthal, Bournemouth, England, from his fourth cousin twice removed Gawin Orr, M.D. (1839-1925; Jones no. 2361) of Ballylesson, Northern Ireland. Among the subscribers of this work listed on page xxvi are "Mr. James Orr [of Newtownards]" (Jones no. 218) and "Mr. John Orr [of] Ballyolly". The latter is John Orr (1728-1809; Jones no. 150), great-grandfather of Gawin Orr through his daughter Jane (1755-1849; Jones no. 457) who married her first cousin, another Gawin Orr (1756-1830; Jones no. 466). For all of these people, see Ray A. Jones, Ulster pedigrees (1977).
