- Summary:
- The architect and design designer Friedrich Karl Engemann (1898-1970) is one of the lesser known representatives of the Bauhaus. Unjustly, because he deserves interest for several reasons: his rapid rise from student to representative of the Bauhaus director is to be mentioned. In addition, there is his integration into teaching institutions of the city of Dessau, his formative role for architectural teaching and shape design in the GDR and, last but not least, his independent work. This creation, which bridged an avant-garde, science-oriented approach and the experience values of the builder, is handed down in essential trains in a design discount. The evaluation of this convolute from the holdings of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation forms the starting point for the publication. The volume with text contributions by Lutz Schöbe, Dr. Angela Dolgner and Dr. Andreas Butter is richly illustrated.
