- Summary:
- The hairdresser's husband: Antoine fulfills his lifelong fantasy of marrying a hairdresser, which he has dreamed of since he was a child.
- Yvonne's perfume: French expatriate Victor falls in love with Yvonne, an aspiring actress.
- Half a chance: Alice is released from prison and goes on an adventure with two men, one of whom she believes may be her father.
- Girl on the bridge: Knife-thrower Gabor saves Adèle from jumping off a bridge and convinces her to join his act, and the two begin a relationship.
- Patrice Leconte is one of the most acclaimed and successful filmmakers of his generation, and this four-film collection brings together some of his most memorable work. The Hairdresser's Husband (1990) is a newly restored masterpiece that pairs the brilliant Jean Rochefort and the incandescent Anna Galiena in a wildly erotic ode to wedded bliss. Yvonne's Perfume (1994) is a mysterious and romantic drama of desire set at an exclusive lakeside resort wedged between France and Switzerland. Half a Chance (1998) is a star-studded action comedy in which legends Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon get roped into saving Vanessa Paradis from the mob, as either one could be her real father! And finally, there is the swooningly beautiful Girl on the Bridge (1999), which follows the whirlwind courtship of a carnival knife-thrower and lonesome wanderer Adele. Together they are some of the most entertaining French films of the 1990s.
