- From the Colton Storm catalogue: "The series of letters, to members of his family, contains good descriptions of military life at western posts during 1865. At the time of the first letter, Capron's parents had not heard from him in six years. Accompanying the correspondence are a letter from Capron's parents, a letter from his sister, a letter by Henry C. Barrett to Miss Nannie Fairley, and another letter is by Capron's sister (returned to sender) in which she complains she has not heard from him for nine years. With the letters is a daguerreotype portrait of Capron."
