Terminus post quem for publication date from songs on pages 15 ("That old gang of mine") and 19 ("Song of love"), both dated 1924; terminus ante quem from Brown's marriage to Henry S. Sanborn on May 2, 1928.

This is thought to be the earliest version of this book because it is the only year which lists Beulah Brown as the compiler; subsequent years have variations of the Yellowstone Park Camps Co. Also the only year to number verses in the songs.
