The first of several prayer books produced by Elizabeth Senault for the French court, entirely engraved in an attempt to mirror the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages.
Notes:
Engraved throughout. Numerous ornaments, head- and tailpieces, ornamental and floriated initials, etc. Each page of text within double rule.
Signatures: pi² A-C⁴ D² E-Z⁴ &⁴ a-c⁴
Signatures appear in head inner corner of leaves.

Lea Library copy bound in contemporary full dark red morocco; boards tooled in gold; owner's name ("MADEMOISELL BOURBONNOIS") stamped in gold on boards; gold-tooled cover edges; 4 raised bands on spine; gold-tooled spine panels; title ("HEUR NOUVE") stamped in gold on spine; blue silk endpapers; all edges gilt.
