- Summary:
- Yes, you can also listen to the “Macarena” on Qwest TV! Los del Río's festive hit since the mid-1990s, introduces the fourth opus in this documentary series dedicated to Spanish popular music since the fall of Francoism. The general public has thus embraced new music rooted in traditions such as flamenco and Sevillana. Not always for the best, of course. But the “nuevo flamenco” of Kiko Veneno or the pop of Miguel Bosé, for example, have ingeniously taken advantage of the hybridizations advocated by Faín S. Dueñas of Radio Tarifa: *Without fusion, I don't believe there can be any evolution, either in music or in any other art form. This evolution testifies to the profound changes in Spanish society at the end of the last century, not without retropedals as the film ends with the triumph of Gregorian chants. Eric Delhaye
