- Summary:
- The heavy metal of Héroes del Silencio, on “Iberia sumergida” (1995), and the rain falling on Madrid paint a different picture of Spain. The Movida has come and gone, wiping out the Franco years with punk guitars and wild parties. Now, all forms of rock are being played in clubs like El Sol, often with lyrics in Spanish, under the impetus of a label like Subterfugio. The documentary also tells the story of how the Benicàssim festival, created in 1995 on a Valencian beach, propelled Spain to the forefront of the international music scene. From Gatas Negras to Def Con Dos and Sangtraït, the film describes how rock culture has permeated even the street theater of La Fura dels Baus. The Movida is over, but its shockwave is not about to disappear. Eric Delhaye
