- Summary:
- Hindi Zara and Fatoumata Diawara at the Olympic Café Tour are two radiant friends who are celebrating the realization of their respective careers and a successful gamble together as part of Banlieues Bleues. The first track, "Quitter," evokes their path of immigration, from their beginnings as singers in Paris, crossing Morocco and Mali in this place, a musical encounter in the Goutte d'or neighborhood, and the first signs of their future success. Now famous all over the world, the concert is the official realization of a project undertaken together at Fatoumata Diawara’s place in Mali, and recorded in record time in Bamako. A 10-track album, Olympic Café Tour symbolizes their natural affinity and the journey each of them takes to the musical traditions of their country of origin and to music in general, mixing Bambara with Amazigh and English, folk with jazz, soul with blues and reggae, like they do in "Mbifè," which is a haunting song. Together, they create a universal language that resonates with a modern Africa, with generous melodies suffused with great strength. Marion Paoli
