- Summary:
- A true star of the Internet with his crazy music videos gone viral, Marc Rebillet keeps his incredible energy and sense of humor on stage. At the Antique Theater of the Jazz à Vienne festival, he arrives in a fine silk bathrobe, one of his trademarks, and performs an hour of totally free, offbeat, absolutely enjoyable improvisation. Moving from rap with an old-school flow to electro-funky tracks with remarkable ease, Marc Rebillet takes us on a musical trip, bordering on the one-man show. Because yes, he is indeed a showman! Using the unexpected and the public to feed his work, he improvises an acapella scat in response to the remark of a spectator who "wants some jazz," and launches a song around "turn it up" after a young woman complains of the sound not being loud enough. But despite his comic airs, Marc Rebillet has quite a musical background, having started the piano at the age of four, studied at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, and he handles his instruments and machines with disconcerting ease. Between house, funky accents with big bass lines, hip-hop, trap, disco and soul, the Franco-American delivers a performance with crazy energy, which even prompts him to take off his bathrobe leaving him in his boxers on stage, before “covering up” with a small bra… Memorable!
