- Summary:
- Louis Cole: drummer, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, Thundercat collaborator, co-founder of Knower. Here, he presents his Big Band for a unique concert. Get ready to enter a singular musical universe where the groove is always galvanized and the funk is formidable. The musicians, dressed in skeleton costumes, let wild solos run free over and over again. Genevieve Artadi and Chiquita are the two singers, and they follow the choreography whilst clad in fluorescent outfits. Cole, meanwhile, doesn’t stand still; he switches from the keyboard to the drums before joining the singers for dance sections, too. The mix between the orchestra and the electronic sounds is harmonious, complex and captivating. While the retro-futuristic style achieved can take both dynamic and soothing forms, one thing is for sure: it contains ingenuity and top quality writing from start to finish. Louis Cole was originally jazz trained, but he moved away from it in order to create music that corresponds to who he is. The result is a crazy, spatial symphony. A master of compositions, he enthrals audience. Anaïs Christidis Guillemard
