- Summary:
- "We're playing together for the first time. I've always loved crossing generations, because we discover new pleasures in improvisation. I'm still having fun," confesses Michel Portal. And so are we! The tall beanpole, Peirani, and the old pro, who share conspiratorial looks, get along like delirious kids in this idyllic setting with perfect acoustics. It is the older of the two who leads the game of freedom and letting go on festive songs, on darker ones, on ballads, a tango, and a playful waltz-musette before concluding with a version of La Javanaise worth to cry about. When Portal abandons the clarinet and bass clarinet to seize his bandoneon, the concert becomes magical and drifts towards another dimension that he has rarely explored. Long, unbridled, playful exchanges are sometimes echoed by vocals in the style of the Brazilian accordionist Sivuca. Philippe Lesage
