- Summary:
- Discovered in the Paris metro in the 80s, Keziah Jones released his first solo album in 1991 entitled "BluFunk is a Fact!" which included a song called "Rhythm is Love" – a veritable worldwide hit. Originally from Nigeria, he created and exported a style that was all his own: BluFunk. Offering exactly what it says on the tin, this new hybrid genre aimed to blend the raw elements of the blues with a edgy form of funk. At the age of 8, his father sent him to study in England. The young boy was troubled by the cultural gap between his native country and his new home – he would later combine these two cultures in his art (African Space Craft, 1995; Black Orpheus, 2003; Nigerian Woods, 2008). Qwest TV sat down with him for an exclusive interview where he quipped about his first musical memory, told unusual anecdotes on stage, and revealed his favourite cartoon theme... Learn about his favorite tracks, ones for the more intimate moments in life, as well as the more difficult ones. Anaïs Christidis Guillemard
