- Summary:
- This is another part of the Acoustic Tour project, this time in trio, for a performance that breathes a timeless jazz vibe. We won’t dwell on Portal's always-dazzling performance, which revisits some of his compositions here, but rather on that of his guests, who form a dream rhythmic. (It is true that double bass player Bruno Chevillon and drummer Daniel Humair had just formed a duo a short time before.) Bruno Chevillon is by far the youngest of the three, but he knows that you can’t teach old dogs new tricks. This double bass player is impressive with a bow. He knows how to make his instrument sing in empathy with the variety of colors of a Humair, while looking like a cross between Buddha and a mandarin. In "Ombres," which Portal introduces as "an atmospheric little tune," they let flashes of contemporary music shine through. Philippe Lesage
