Summary:
Eduardo Mena Concha (Chile 1964-2021) art reflects his ability to see things with genuine naïve tenderness, very present in the children, in the colors and landscapes he painted. He traveled to Mexico, to the United States, and finally returned to Valparaíso. The book organizes his works according to "periods", named by the artist himself. After the death, in June 2021, the idea of compiling his work arose among his friends. Poet Santiago Elordi, from Spain, invited painters Gonzalo Ilabaca, Santiago Amenábar, Pía Subercaseaux, and the artist's siblings, Paula and Beltrán Mena to participate. “This is a book dedicated to the artist Eduardo Mena Concha, which brings together his best works and contextualizes them in relation to his biography and his stylistic turns. Mena was an outdoor painter, in the open air, who portrayed what he loved. He was close and companion of places, animals and people including the works. He also wrote about his own everyday experiences.” –translated from page 5.
