Summary:

Romané Chavé is an original creation that refers to the Romané Chavé people who speak the Romani language, a language that is also that of gypsies, manouches, and Travellers. For the festival, Dutch, French, and Romanian manouche and gypsy musicians came to pay tribute to the musical and philosophical heritage of Django Reinhardt, who ended his days in this idyllic place. For those who withdraw from gypsy music, we recommend watching this video carefully and letting themselves be carried away by the communicative joy of the violin, cymbalom, accordion, two double basses, and four guitars. The film begins with the essential "Nuages," performed as a duo by Dutch guitarist Stochelo Rosenberg and Gianni Lincan on cymbalom. Its grand finale is "Minor Swing," another classic by Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. Stochelo Rosenberg's beautifully styled composition, "For Sephora," takes on Brazilian accents. Philippe Lesage
