本书为三峡考古报告系列之一.瓦子坪遗址位于长江岸边的二级台地上,地势平坦,地理位置优越.为配合三峡水利工程建设,2001年至2004年,山东博物馆考古队连续4年对瓦子坪遗址进行了考古发掘,发掘面积超过8000平方米,发掘西汉,东汉,蜀,六朝,清代墓葬逾100余座,获得了一批重要的考古资料.发掘墓葬中,以汉代墓葬数量最多,分布也最为广泛.汉代墓葬中,西汉墓葬较少,东汉墓数量多.其次是六朝墓葬较多,发现少量的蜀汉墓葬,还有零星清代墓葬.
